According to Peter Leitch of the Motion Picture Production Industry Association of British Columbia, even if US WGA members ratify the agreement reached with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, "...it will take a while to gear up again..."
BC Film Commisioner Susan Croome says there are no TV series currently shooting in British Columbia. Last year at this time, there were 14 series/miniseries in production.
Following the latest WGA developments, the Battlestar Galactica production offices were staffed for the first time in weeks, with new episodes being scheduled before the series winds up its final season.
BSG kept their set during the strike, and Men in Trees, Psych and Kyle XY, continue to pay for studio space.
Bionic Woman was removed from Vancouver Film Studios during the strike and The 4400 officially cancelled.
Features continuing to shoot locally include Traveling, Watchmen and Day The Earth Stood Still.
In the US, the first TV series to rush back into production will be network performers CSI, House, Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy...
