Brightlight Pictures announced its latest collaboration with Gold Circle Films on White Noise 2: The Light, a sequel to the supernatural thriller and box office success White Noise that was shot in Vancouver in 2004. White Noise 2: The Light is a feature film scheduled to shoot in the Greater Vancouver area in early 2006. Patrick Lussier is directing on a script written by Matt Venne. The picture has not yet been cast. Roque Pictures has acquired U.S. distribution rights with Mandate Pictures handling foreign distribution.

The original feature film White Noise, starred Michael Keaton (Beetlejuice, Batman, Jack Frost), and was produced by Gold Circle Films and Brightlight Pictures. The White Noise worldwide theatrical box office sales saw a total gross in excess of $100 million.

In White Noise 2: The Light, the story follows a man who is brought back to life after his family is murdered. After his own personal near death experience, he undergoes a transformation that allows him to see people who are on the verge of death. Trying to save their lives, he realizes that a price has to be paid for trying to change the natural order of things.

“White Noise is an incredible success story for the Canadian film industry,” says Brightlight Pictures producer and principal Shawn Williamson, “grossing in excess of $100 million along with a day and date release in both Canada and the U.S., we see White Noise 2: The Light further telling the story that Canada has the talent and the ability to continue to produce successful major motion pictures for worldwide audiences.”
